About Jaime

Jaime Martinez is the Executive Director of the Mesa Veterans Resource Center and an Iraq/Afghanistan combat veteran. He spent close to 9 years in the Army as a Combat Medic. His mission is stopping the 22 suicides a day that happen in the veteran community by getting veterans the resources they need, whether it be through a private or public center.

When Martinez got out of the Army he went to the VA for help. He was told he had to wait seven months to see someone for mental health. He needed help immediately, not in seven months. He ended up self-medicating for three years as an alcoholic and drug addict.

Jaime was homeless and broken. He lost his wife at the time, his kids, and his home. It was only until he was able to get help via nonprofit organizations that he was able to get his life together.

Nine years later Jaime is an Executive Director with a passion to help every single veteran. He doesn’t want to see anyone waste three years of their life because they can’t get the help they are entitled to after serving their country.
