About Debbie Moore

Debbie Moore worked in industry before coming into teaching, but her late entry into teaching did not keep her from amassing an astounding list of accomplishments. She is currently a teacher on assignment at Mountain Ridge High School. She teaches marketing and the CTE Internship class. She then works with the administrative team in the afternoon.

Moore taught marketing education at Raymond S. Kellis High School in Glendale, Arizona, where she helped found the marketing program and was the first to teach the advanced marketing and the Sports Marketing courses. In addition, she has brought the National Academy Foundation’s Academy of Hospitality & Tourism to the school. Her students have participated in multiple community service projects and won the $25,000 National Lead2Feed contest. Her students were one of the 5 grand prize winners and started their entrepreneurship journey while still in high school and now run a non-profit! Kellis also grew to over 650 members to become one of the top five DECA programs in the world.

She has won the 2014 National Leavey Award for teaching Private Enterprise, the 2012 National Teacher of the Year for Community Service by ACTE, a 2009 Teacher Ambassador of Excellence achieving a Top Five status in the Arizona Teacher of the Year Contest. She is also the 2009 YWCA Women’s Sports Leader of the Year. Ms. Moore has been named the State Cox Communication Teacher in Technology Award winner, the 2008 Super Bowl Teacher of the Year, and the state’s New Marketing and New CTE teacher of the Year in past years. She won the 2005 Association for Career and Technical Education’s Outstanding National New CTE of the Year and the 2005 Outstanding National New Marketing Teacher of the Year by the National Marketing Education Association. She is the past National ACTE Marketing Education Division Vice President, the current National Marketing Education Association President and a Life Member of the Fiesta Bowl.

She has coached girls and boys volleyball as well as track. She has several state champions in hurdles, which is her specialty. She coached club volleyball with several boys and girls programs. Her girl’s teams ranked in the top ten and made the final four rounds of play. She stepped down from high school volleyball coaching after 33 years but not before she won her 5th Coach of the Year award and was the Arizona Candidate for the National Coach of the Year for Girls Volleyball. She continues coaching one of the National Travel teams for the Arizona Sky Volleyball Club that finished 3rd in the National Championships.

She is just the kind of teacher and coach who can make a difference in the lives of students today and in the future.
