About Dennis
A former US Army Criminal Investigator, assigned to undercover narcotics operations in Germany, Mr. Campbell (“DC”) held numerous management and executive posts following military service, in the aviation, tourism, event facilities, and real estate sectors over his professional career.
With a reputation for business unit turn around accomplishments, “DC” was recruited from airport operations to improve/gain market-share and community support for Southwest Airlines in the New Mexico/West Texas operations, subsequently tapped to reverse the anemic convention/conference contracts for VisitABQ, (the destination marketing company for Albuquerque, New Mexico), and in the late 1990’s, as a gubernatorial appointee, charged with the turn around of the financially crippled and eroded support/reputation of the New Mexico State Fair operations, the (5th largest in the USA at that time).
During his tenure at Southwest Airlines and hospitality industry, “DC” (and VisitABQ) achieved record revenues for Southwest, and record conventions sales in four of his seven year tenure there along with recognition as the Marketer of the Year (1991New Mexico Chapter of AMA) and honored with a "Dennis Campbell day" via Mayoral Executive Order (1996) for record contributions to economic impact through tourism and convention development; the only tourism official to date in Albuquerque, NM to receive such recognition. DC guided the NM State Fair (Expo New Mexico) to stable financial health and renewed community support, preventing financial collapse, saving jobs, and the long-standing traditions of the New Mexico State Fair organization.
Presently, as a speaker, trainer and workshop facilitator, Dennis is equipped and focused on helping small CAP and large CAP organizations become the Employer of Choice, Product of Choice, and Investment of Choice.
When not speaking, DC enjoys international travel/culture experiences with his wife, scuba diving, racing a Porsche 944 on the amateur racing circuits, holds a private pilot license and spoils his grandchildren and Australian Shepherd.
